Re: How to "scrap" your motorbike after COE expired ?

If your motorbike’s COE is expiring and you don’t want to renew or sell it, you’ll need to scrap it through an LTA-authorized scrapyard in Singapore. Just bring your NRIC, the bike, and its log card to the scrapyard, and they will handle the disposal and issue a certificate. The process is usually free, and you may receive a small amount (around $50–$150) depending on the condition. Don’t forget to deregister the vehicle with LTA after scrapping to avoid any future fees or penalties.

Gahmen fcked the market with their BS ABSD

I have overseas property and interests.

There is no way the liquidity and capital growth here are keeping up with world norms.

In my place no one has been able to sell for over a year (in a private freehold condo) - why would anyone pay a 60% ABSD.

The market is dead. Anyone holding property who wants to vacate it now has to rent it out. This is partly why the rent market went (or is?) a bit stupid - a lot of new LL./

I am so pissed off.

Re: CAN'T BELIEVE IT LASTED AS LONG AS IT DID

I had to reply just to check my date of joining. I was thinking about coming to Singapore to join a long time friend in Singapore to start a business and found this forum while researching and deciding if I should make the jump. I moved to Singapore in November, 2004, about the time that SMS joined, and it's been shits and giggles ever since. :D

Not bad considering the Forum has only been in existence since 2003. Strong Eagle and myself are currently the two longest active members of the Forum. And yeah, we are both getting a bit long in the tooth! LOL.

Re: Anybody had a mesh repair done for hernia in Singapore and any complications after 1+ year ?

Yes, I had a mesh repair for an inguinal hernia done in Singapore a little over a year ago, and so far things have been stable with no major complications. The procedure was laparoscopic, and recovery was pretty smooth—back to light activity within a week. I did experience some mild discomfort for a few months, especially after exercise, but that gradually went away. It’s important to follow your surgeon’s post-op advice closely and attend all follow-up appointments. Every case is different, but in my experience, the outcome has been positive.
