Amazing how western people are so casual about their careers!

Just read this article:
https://www.businessinsider.com/cant-find-job-masters-degree-running-out-savings-gen-x-2024-9

I find it amazing how western people are so casual about their careers. How they like to experiment with life and do things they love. Whereas we Indians/Asians are never satisfied no matter how much money we have.

Re: PR Re entry permit renewal - 3 years only? Why?

I would just point out and comment that how many years they actually renew your REP for (e.g. 3 years) may have some other reasons that have nothing to do with ICA wanting you to give up your PR. In fact I think ICA tends to give you a lot of leeway when renewing your REP because they don’t want to take that away from you just like that.

Case in point my sis. Went overseas to do her post grad and is now living and working overseas. Yet ICA has been renewing her REP every year for the past 3 years even though she hasn’t lived here or been back here.

Re: I went to Jim Roger's talk at the Saxo US election brief last night (inc. pic)

I really like Jim, but I find his investment advice a little kooky. People like Jim can afford to speculate, try their luck at market timing and riskier investments like commodities, without putting their financial independence at risk. Most ordinary people can ill afford to do that.

my son is 16+ now, I don't think your suggestion would work.

Any insurance company that helps with bond ?

Re: Insurance for NS Exit permit bond

not sure how 364 days exit would apply for him.
