All the best WD40. Do you have any work or other activities back home?

Thanks! As of now, the plan is to first settledown. After that I will explore what I can do. I will try to upskill and find a relaxed job with WFH options, although I am not sure if I will get one which I like. But then I am in no hurry, I will take my time.

I am looking forward to buy a nice motorcycle and get back to riding. :) My daughter's school is 7kms from my house, so my main routine will revolve around picking and dropping my daughter to school, initially.

Re: Finally got my Singapore Citizenship!

Thanks for detailed info bro. For renunciation, need to go with full family to BLS? Did you surrender Indian passport of all the family members at the same time?

Re: Thoughts on Ex Singapore citizen applying for Singapore PR?

Hi PrincessPika,

Perhaps he could try applying for an LTVP first being sponsored by yourself as a Singaporean? I'm not sure if that could be easier compared to PR? LTVP with a letter of consent will also allow him to find employment in Singapore with fewer restrictions compared to EP.

Please do update us on whether he does eventually get approved! I'm currently pregnant with a son and am trying to get as much information of how such decisions (should we choose to make them) will impact my son's future chances of living/working in SG.

Couple of questions......

What is you nationality?

What is your ethnicity?

If your ethnicity is Chinese or partially Chinese (as in a lot of Indonesians are) Or Vietnamese (formerly if say grandparents moved to the old S. VN) This is usually a trigger for requesting family registers (especially if grandparents are listed showing them being Chinese). If proof of the Chinese can be gotten it is a big step in gaining an edge over the normal ethnicity of the citizenry.

Re: Thoughts on whether to give birth to son outside of SG?

Hi PNGMK,

Thank you for the response, I really appreciate your insights!

Yea, if we were to go through the hassle and costs of giving birth overseas, likelihood would be we wouldn't apply for SC at all but perhaps an LTVP if that's at all possible – though it could raise questions with the govt on why we don't want Citizenship for him.

I thought that having options was a blessing, but this is turning out to be a more stressful decision than I'd imagine :? I guess we'll do our best to make an informed choice based on all the information we currently have and cross that bridge in 20 years.
