I think my current company might be sabotaging me by applying new EP IPA without consent
Hi all fellow members sorry for the long story incoming but I really need some advice.
I am an EP holder currently and I think my company is trying to sabotage me to keep me from resigning.
So recently, I just joined this new Company A for over a month and realised it was a red flag since the 1st week. Toxic work culture and 5-6 person already serving notice period at the same time. 3 weeks in 2 more person hands in notice.
I started to look for a new job and lucky me, I received an offer from Company B within 5th week into my job at Company A. So, Company B follows the usual procedure of applying a new EP for me but somehow Company B HR informed me that they could not proceed because there is another pending EP application under my name (my current valid EP is under Company A, the additional ongoing application under god knows what company).
I was puzzled. I did attended a few interviews but most of them did not work out and they certainly did not have my personal details like .....

One of the reasons Indians move back to India before their kids grow up, is so that the kids then spend their teenage years in India and hopefully marry an Indian within the religion even if outside the caste.
The mismatch in cultures is so much that it is just not worth it. I know majority of long timers in this forum are mixed race marriages, but I am sure you guys agree, the amount of adjustments you have to make, in the end after the initial honeymoon phase marriage is mainly about compatibility and having the same culture where roles and expectations are clearly defined, is much more easier life to lead.
The kind of hoops you people have jumped to make the mixed marriage work is really commendable. I am too lazy and my expectations out of life are too low, for that kind of challenge.

Husband PR by Local Sponsorship rejected
Hi,
We just received ICA letter indicating rejection of PR application submitted in June 2024. This application was submitted by me on behalf of him as the local sponsor.
As the letter does not contain much details, any insight will be appreciated to help us understand the reasons of rejection.

I hear you. My daughter is one of the ones who ''upset the applecart" when she married her husband. He's a pure blood Malayali (but as high caste, they are all Syrian Orthodox Catholics). Both parents are long term PR's (like me at around 30 years each). My Son-in-Law is now an SGC having been 'offered' SGC if he would go to Officer Candidate School. He's a SAF Cpt NS man today, He's also has a BSc/MSc/PhD in Aeronautical Engineering. But the Marriage was a bit of an issue although it resolved itself beautifully. Him being Malayali and my Daughter being a No-Caste half-breed Tamil cause a fair bit of consternation with his parents (father) and dead-set against the union. Took a fair bit of time to get us two old men to break bread and have a talk but eventually we did It. He didn't want to lose his only child and Shanu was determine to marry my daughter. *I now have two grandsons of 4 and 8 years of age from that union. Oh, the father and I now get along .....

Indian upper caste folks also converted to Islam and Christianity. I know - I'm one of them (Christian).
Whether it's converts or it's folks who are still Hindus, because of generations of so called "privilege" (basically having sufficient funds to access education), inevitably the Indians abroad are upper caste Hindus or Muslims /Christians converted from upper castes. Just look around and you'll know what I mean. So I don't think Indians are happy to ditch India because of being lower caste. I think it's more cultural - we are hard working enough to do well outside when we do have the means to get out of India, but conservative so that even outside of India we seek the comfort of our "own" people, culture and food. It's not unusual to hear of Indians overseas who don't mind dating outside of the community just for the "thrill" of the experience, but the moment it's time to settle down and marry, you'll find us seeking an Indian spouse.
