We have applied for FAFSA and done up the CSS profile on college board. Each school has its own set of requirements which can be a lot of hoops to jump through, but it's a hell of a lot better than spending 80K a year.

I'd assume you will try to convince your doter to apply to state schools and establish residency in said state to reduce costs?

Re: Single Singaporean mum giving birth overseas

Hi all,

Am a Singaporean (by birth) and have been working in Shanghai last couple of years. Due to work reasons, I may not be able to be back in SG to have my baby delivered there.
I’m a single mum, been reading up on ICA website but I am not able to get a clear verdict if my baby will be eligible for Singapore citizenship by descent as I’m not married.
Can anyone provide some advice?
❱❱

You should absolutely attempt to be back in Singapore to give birth if you want a 100% guarantee that your child will have SC. Do not rely on advice from ICA or us. Go for the safe option. Your child will definitely have SC if born in Sgp to a SC mother. In China your child could be born stateless which is a death sentence.

Test of my memory so here goes. :) mods might be able to restore the post if they choose to

Indian family - husband 42, wife 37 and a daughter (under 10, cannot remember exactly)
In Singapore since 2010.
Husband in IT, approx salary 250k. Wife stopped working in 21 to become a home maker.
3 PR rejections. Inevitable question - how to "improve" chances :)
❱❱

Hah.. OP can help to evaluate your memory :D
