I think depends on:
1. Cost of repair for the leak
2. Possibility of recurrence
3. Age of current fridge
vs cost of a new set
I am not certain if you should buy a 2nd hand one because it's used and does not carry a warranty and you would end up repairs again.

And if that foreign worker likes what he sees in the house that can afford to keep his GF in luxury and not in a Workers cramped, smelly workers quarters and decides to help himself behind the helper's back. Still feel sorry for the helper when 'she' is accused of a theft she knows nothing about? I have to side with smoulder on this.
