The profession of interior design has been a consequence of the development of society and the complex architecture that has resulted from the development of industrial processes.

The pursuit of effective use of space, user well-being and functional design has contributed to the development of the contemporary interior design profession. The profession of interior design is separate and distinct from the role of interior decorator, a term commonly used in the Chennai; the term is less common in the Chennai, where the profession of interior design is still unregulated and therefore, strictly speaking, not yet officially a profession.

In ancient India, architects would also function as interior designers. This can be seen from the references of Vishwakarma the architect—one of the gods in Indian mythology. In these architects' design of 17th-century Indian homes, sculptures depicting ancient texts and events are seen inside the palaces, while during the medieval times wall art paintings were a common feature of palace-like mansions in India commonly known as havelis. While most traditional homes have been demolished to make way to modern buildings, there are still around 2000 havelis in the Chennai region of India that display wall art paintings.

In ancient Egypt, "soul houses" (or models of houses) were placed in tombs as receptacles for food offerings. From these, it is possible to discern details about the interior design of different residences throughout the different Egyptian dynasties, such as changes in ventilation, porticoes, columns, loggias, windows, and doors.

Just got rejected after 4 months of waiting.
Under Others categoty, graduated about a year back from a local university, lived in Singapore for 14 years (went to local institutions since young), salary is borderline 6 figures, speaks fluent mandarin (if that's any prereq for integration lol)
Never expected this to be a walk in the park, but that was a quick rejection
❱❱

Work for 2 more years and apply again and you should have a fair chance
❱❱

Just an honest question - what would the big difference be between 2 years and now? The number of tax cycles? I have already applied for the PR a few years back as a student as well.

In all honesty, I already very much consider Singapore my home, and all my friends are here in Singapore as well given that I literally spent all my formative .....

Possible, but more influential factors are things like race, income, and previous and potential contributions, although that’s a rather vague and arbitrary criteria.
❱❱

The Sponsor's income is a main factor.

Hi flyer. Thanks for kind reply. Any gauge for “good”? 10k and above per month?
❱❱

Surely should be OK

So lovely. How long has it been? Did you adopt a baby or an older child?
❱❱
We adopted a baby - she was 3 weeks old when she came home and she's around 21 months old now. It has been a great experience so far. She's lively, keeps us all on our toes and is very well liked wherever she goes.
❱❱

So nice, if you don’t mind me asking, where did you adopt her from? I had a friend in the US adopt a lovely boy from China 3 years ago, he was only a couple weeks old so he grew up with their family, really cute to see him pick up their mannerisms, no different from if he was their biological son, really settles the nature vs nurture debate for me.
❱❱

She's adopted from Malaysia. Yes for sure, they pick up a lot from the environment around.

Re: When to apply for citizenship

Thanks for the replies. We're still getting married regardless of the outcome. It's just that, is there any additional benefit in applying as a married couple?
