Hi, I am a Singaporean Chinese F looking to rent a single room within walking distance to Dakota/ Paya Lebar/ Mountbatten MRT for 2 to 6 months, depending on your requirements.
If you can match my requirements but your place is not in these locations but near other stations along the Circle Line e.g. Serangoon, Tai Seng, it is fine too.
Size of the room does not need to be too big (can be maid or utility room), but must be clean and have a window as I do not use aircon often. Bathroom must be clean.
My budget is around SGD400 to SGD450, inclusive of light cooking, PUB and wifi.
I am a working professional and will keep your house tidy and clean. I do not use aircon when I am sleeping. I only wash my clothes once a week. I am considerate and do not touch others’ belongings or disturb others with loud music. I do not require the use of your address either so it will be fuss-free.
Please WhatsApp text/ WhatsApp call me at 9083 two 88 four if you have a room that matches my requirements. I am able to move in immediately so that you can start earning your rental immediately too. Thank you.

There is no way the liquidity and capital growth here are keeping up with world norms.
In my place no one has been able to sell for over a year (in a private freehold condo) - why would anyone pay a 60% ABSD.
The market is dead. Anyone holding property who wants to vacate it now has to rent it out. This is partly why the rent market went (or is?) a bit stupid - a lot of new LL./
I am so pissed off.

I reckon the intention with the ABSD was to stop speculation and the ever spiraling real estate costs in Singapore. From that perspective, it's certainly working.

Re: How to "scrap" your motorbike after COE expired ?
If your motorbike’s COE is expiring and you don’t want to renew or sell it, you’ll need to scrap it through an LTA-authorized scrapyard in Singapore. Just bring your NRIC, the bike, and its log card to the scrapyard, and they will handle the disposal and issue a certificate. The process is usually free, and you may receive a small amount (around $50–$150) depending on the condition. Don’t forget to deregister the vehicle with LTA after scrapping to avoid any future fees or penalties.

Re: CAN'T BELIEVE IT LASTED AS LONG AS IT DID
I had to reply just to check my date of joining. I was thinking about coming to Singapore to join a long time friend in Singapore to start a business and found this forum while researching and deciding if I should make the jump. I moved to Singapore in November, 2004, about the time that SMS joined, and it's been shits and giggles ever since. :D

Not bad considering the Forum has only been in existence since 2003. Strong Eagle and myself are currently the two longest active members of the Forum. And yeah, we are both getting a bit long in the tooth! LOL.
