After many fantastic years in Singapore we are leaving for new shores and are renting out our 5 room HDB apartment - preferably to fellow expats.
Some 5 years ago, when we were house hunting in Singapore we figured out that we didn´t like most condominiums since there were too small to stay there in the long term and had poor connectivity. Also, more often than not there was a complete lack of food options nearby. Living in Asia without ready access to delicious food was a big no-no to us. So we decided to purchase an HDB apartment with excellent public transport connectivity instead and do an extensive renovation to bring the living standard up to what we would expect in Europe.
We have definitely never regretted this decision.
Our HDB is less than 300 m of completely sheltered walking distance to the green line MRT station. My husband´s office was in Raffles Place all these years and it the fact that he can get there without getting wet on rainy days and never has to worry about being able to get into a train was a big asset to him. Not having to change trains or take a bus to the MRT also meant that although it seems a little further out in the west, the journey time to Raffles Place is actually the same or shorter than from many more central residential areas (and a lot more hassle free).
However, what you get is a far more attractive neighborhood not only with a stadium and excellent swimming pool but also with the cycling areas around Nanyang University nearby (if you are into outdoor sports like my husband). On a rainy day, you may wish to stop at one of the many cafes and eateries in Jurong Point - one of Singapore best malls only one MRT station away.
Also, we fully appreciate the nuisance and costs involved in purchasing household items and appliances when one is unsure how long the stay in Singapore is actually going to be. So when we say "fully furnished", we actually mean fully furnished. This does not only mean that the furniture is good quality and complete but also that items such as cutlery, a good choice of quality and matching pots and pans are available. Our endeavor is to provide the apartment in such a condition that you can move in without having to purchase anything except for items related to personal hygiene (ie bedlinen and towels).
Since you will be dealing with us directly there will be now agent fees involved.
So if you would rather have a good amount of space to your good selves (actually 110 sqm - my husband even had a model train setup), good MRT connectivity, a 24h food court with lot´s of excellent options nearby and an attractive neighborhood to spend the weekend than live the condo life this may be very well the right unit for you.
