Australian Oil & Gas Corporation requires,
Senior Completions Engineer : One(1) person
Working out of Jakarta, 240 days, single posting
Rate is US1000 per day, Over and above would be mob and demob cost,
Relocation or family posting will be considered
His main purpose of assignment/duties is to construct the completion philosophy in
consultation with the Company’s Drilling and Subsurface Team and other consultants.
The following scope of work shall be fulfilled as a minimum commitment.
< Investigate possible formation damage mechanism >
Maximizing well productivity is the fundamental goal. The higher well productivity
is the lower the unit cost of produced hydrocarbons (due to reduced number of wells
and asso ciated infra-structure required - reservoir geometry permitting etc).
Formation damage avoidance together with an integrated approach to drilling and
completion design will achieve the above goal.
A) Review reservoir data from logs, rock petrology, core data, production test
results, porosity/permeability correlation’s, drilling data etc to identify
potential formation damage mechanisms.
B) Develop a strategy to identify potential formation damage mechanisms.
C) Draft formation damage test procedure and discuss/agree with contractor in
D) Monitor laboratory work, fine-tune and optimise the work program as
intermediate results become available if possible.
E) Evaluate the effect of drilling fluids and practices used to date on well
inflow performance and to identify opportunities for improvement (e.g. type and
character of drilling fluid, drilling practices, time vs. damage relationship).
Also it may be possible to identify reservoir zones or units that are particularly
susceptible to formation damage or certain damage mechanisms.
F) Estimate of potential undamaged well inflow performance.
G) Submit report.
< Review techniques for drilling reservoir >
A) Select drilling fluid, weighting agents and bridging particles and make
B) Review drilling techniques and the impact on formation damage and make
C) Study the effects of overbalance. This will include reviewing the required mud
weight for different orientations, the effect of ECD depending on interval lengths.

< Review completion design >
A) Review and recommend completion material selection
B) Maximize productivity (erosional velocities/ pressure drops etc need to be

selection to combat corrosion, long term reliability of completion components etc)

the recommendations from the formation damage test.
E) Liaison with Company’s subsea, facilities and operations team in order to
coordinate subsea architecture design for well entry, well monitoring and well

This position shall have an extensive experience for overall completion designing
work under the deepwater (500 – 700m WD), huge gas reserves and high temperature (>150 deg C) conditions.
<< Requirements / Competency >>
n minimum of 15 years relevant oil field experience
n at least 8 years working for an operator, having followed an operator’s training
n ; at least 5 years working experience as completions engineer or senior completions
engineer or similar position including handle several highly productive gas
n have enough knowledge of drilling engineering, familiar with data acquisition,
and reservoir engineering
n more than one solid experience being involved in deepwater, subsea completion
designing throughout the project as senior completions engineer or higher position.
n Familiar with modern subsea well completion components and equipments including
data measurement and well intervention tools.
n other required experiences and knowledge to carry out and fulfill his scope of
work as mentioned above.

16K for a family isn’t big unless you wanna live a simple life, Cook at home 3-4 days , shops for grocery at fair price and limit fine dining to 5 days a month .. but depends really how much u wanna save
A single person like me in the bracket of 180-190K isn’t able to save so much but it’s because I travel a lot too and discretionary expenses like shopping and fine dining are a big part of my expenses apart from my rent and income tax, also you will be spending a lot if you have a job where you need to travel a lot believe me u less you can bill it all to your company like most of the westerners do
When I first moved here and was single I was able to keep my budget well under S$1.5k per month by renting a room, taking the bus and eating local.

I've been in my current rented unit for 3 years, and recently been having some flooring issues in the living area. The condo I'm residing at is really old (probably 40 years old), and I'm not sure how old the flooring to the unit is. So recently within the past year, there have been gaps in the wooden floor, and the gaps are getting wider. Who is supposed to fix this - landlord issue or tenant issue?
