This is a well carved grade A Burmese lavender color (Purple) jadeite; it is totally natural and not subjected to any chemical treatment or enhancement. The wooden stand shown in the picture is inclusive in the purchase.
The carving portrays a very lively Wealth Bearing Pig (a 'Sow', complete with nipples ) sitting on top of a big carrot like plant. There is also 2 old chinese coins on one side of the carving as well as a chinese gold ingot on the pig's back. This carving is carved on a duo colour jadeite stone. The jadeite stone has lavender (purple) and a dash of light green in a beautiful contrast. The whole piece is translucent in strong light. This jadeite piece is carved by Hong Kong craftsman. See to believe it! The jadeite is beautiful and soft to the eyes. The carving is vividly life like!

The pig is a very important symbol in Chinese tradition. It is also used in Feng Shui to attract luck into the homes of people that display this powerful symbol. The pig symbolised well-fed, richness of life and the fullness of being. The gold ingot and the string of coins that the pig bring along, symbolises monetary luck being brought into the owners household. In the olden days in China, all influent, strong and powerful family; will have a pig they call it's own. This tradition is still popular in rural China and some parts of Taiwan.
