I am a full-time piano teacher with more than 10years of experience playing the piano and 4 years of teaching. I teach both for exam (following ABRSM or Trinity syllabus) or just for leisure (pop piano, improvisation), and I offer both practical as well as theory lessons, for all ages.
I focus on teaching the right techniques, rhythm and to inculcate musical awareness to my students so that they will not only know how to play, but also to be able to express the music well. My students are also taught to appreciate a wide range of repertoire from classical to modern jazz and pop, not just the usual 3 exam pieces.
The 20 odd students that I have been teaching for the past few years have given me the skills to teach each individual student with methods that suits his/her particular temperament and learning style. Most of my students have progressed very well after I started teaching them, and some have even obtained merits and distinctions in their exams.
